What this role is really about
This is not a typical analyst position.
You will take the lead in developing and structuring our controlling and data environment while guiding a small team of data analysts.
Your work will not only report numbers — it will help shape business decisions.

Leadership & structure
Provide functional leadership to a team of data analysts
Prioritize topics and define reporting standards and quality guidelines
Establish clear reporting processes and recurring reporting routines
KPI system & management reporting
Develop and continuously improve a transparent KPI framework
Build meaningful dashboards and reports for management and C-level stakeholders
Ensure consistent KPI definitions across the organization
Business steering (trade & e-commerce)
Analyze and manage key business metrics such as margin, contribution margin, pricing, inventory turnover, liquidity and forecasting
Identify opportunities, risks, and optimization potential
Translate data insights into concrete business recommendations
Data quality & collaboration with IT
Ensure data consistency across systems
Work closely with IT and development teams to improve data flows and reporting structures
Continuously develop our reporting and BI landscape
Your expertise matters! Our desired profile
Please apply if you meet the following core criteria:
At least 6 years of relevant experience in controlling, commercial finance or business intelligence
Experience in trade, e-commerce, or a fast-growing mid-sized company
Proven experience building or significantly improving KPI systems and management reporting
Strong SQL skills in daily work (joins, relational thinking, data analysis and validation)
Strong business understanding (margin, contribution margin, inventory, pricing, forecasting)
Experience leading teams (functional or disciplinary leadership)
Fluent German language skills
Important:
This role is not suited for pure BI analysts without business steering responsibility or controllers without data/SQL expertise.
Nice to have
Experience building or scaling BI structures
ERP knowledge (e.g. SAP Business One or similar systems)
Experience with forecasting or planning processes
Basic understanding of data architecture or ETL processes
Experience in international trade environments

Working model
